College Grad to Divorcee

College Grad to Divorcee? How do those have anything in common?

Well, my client used these two comparisons to change her limiting belief (she was fearful of going back to school & graduating from college) to an old belief (she was a divorced person) this belief used to be true for her but now she is remarried & no longer defines herself as a divorced person. Even though technically she is still divorced from her first husband that belief no longer exists within her. AND she picked this belief so we went with it!

We took her limiting belief & broke it down into the submodalities and then changed gears and went over her old beliefs. We were attempting to tune her limiting belief & transfer it to an old belief that no longer exists for her.

We actually went through this twice because at first, she was having a hard time defining her limited belief because it had been years since she even thought about it. (She has wanted to go back to college for about 10 years – but just the thought of it made her nervous and anxiety ridden) Once she was able to define these submodalities she was able to move it to her old belief where she felt it no longer existed for her anymore!

The true test was, we scheduled her an interview with an admissions advisor at our local college. Before, she would never have even considered doing this. A few days later she called me & told me she met with the advisor & ordered her old transcripts! She is planning on taking a few classes in the Spring!

Way to go! actually practicing the NLP Submodalities belief change technique with a client and responding resourcefully to their experience is the true test!
